THE BIBLE
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the final authority in the life and teaching of the church. (2 Timothy 3:15,16)
The Bible was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20,21)
It is the responsibility of believers to seek to handle the contents of the Bible correctly and search the scripture carefully to understand and accurately appropriate it's truths. (2 Timothy 2:15,16; Acts 17:11).
GOD
God is the creator of all things and sovereign ruler of the universe. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27)
He has eternally existed in three distinct persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three co-exist as the one and only God. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who came to earth to save us from our sins. Salvation can only be obtained through Jesus. (Matthew 1:21; Luke 19:10; John 3:16; John 14:6)
Having lived in a body of flesh, he was tempted in all ways as we are, yet, was sinless. He offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. (Hebrews 4:14,15)
Having been crucified, he was raised to life three days later and subsequently ascended to Heaven promising to one day return. (John 14:1-6; Acts 1:9-11)
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian, strengthening them in their inner person. (Acts 2:48; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 3:16)
The evidence of the Spirit's indwelling is the fruit seen in an increasingly Christ-like life. (Galatians 5:22-24).
SALVATION
All people have sinned and as a result are separated from God and eternally lost. To be saved is to be forgiven of sin and to receive eternal life in heaven rather than the condemnation of hell. (Luke 24:47; John 3:16-18; John 5:28-29).
Salvation is a free gift from God in that it cannot be earned or achieved through good deeds or self improvement. God extends salvation to believers as an act of grace and mercy paid for by the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; Hebrews 9:26-28)
Salvation, which includes the forgiveness of sins and eternal life are only available to those who trust Jesus Christ as Savior (John 8:24).
Those who accept and believe that Jesus is Lord should:
- Repent of Sin (Luke 13:1-5; Acts 3:19;20:21)
- Confess their faith in him (Romans 10:9,10; I Timothy 6:12,13)
- Be Baptized (immersed) in his name. (Matthew 28:18,29; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-5)
THE CHURCH
Jesus Christ established the Church and is it's head, it being his body. (Matthew 16:18; Colossians 1:18)
God adds people as they are saved to the Church, intending for every believer to be a part of it. (Acts 2:47; I Corinthians 10:13)
The Church is a family of and for believers. It is also Christ's body and presence in the community. (Acts 2:41-44; Ephesians 1:22,23; I Timothy 3:15,16)
